1966 Guild D 40 acoustic guitar vintage D40 flattop RARE mahogany spruce
This is a 12 string acoustic made by Guild (Madeira A-12). It is currently set up as a six string and missing 6 pegs. One can easily and cheaply obtain these from any guitar shop and add the missing strings or restring guitar. The guitar is in overall great shape with only a couple of light scratches and one small ding on backside. The neck is straight, action is light, neck width is quite narrow for a 12, and very little bridge warp. The saddle is adjustable height, which is a nice feature. The top I believe is laminated as opposed to solid, which usually helps avoid warping quite common to many 12 string guitars. I generally tune down one whole note on a twelve string to avoid excessive pressure. The sound as a six string is remarkably good, and I think with a new set of strings tuned down a bit, this will make a great twelve string for a budget price. Shipping is quoted to lower 48 only. Note: This item has been relisted after a flaky bidder decided not to pay after winning. It was already packed to go, so I have relisted it at a lower price. HOWEVER: The winning bidder must pay within 24 hours of auction end.
