For sale is a Guild Artist Award guitar, it is Blonde with the DeArmond 1100 pickup. #173XXX Totally original.
It was made in 1978. It is in beautiful condition with a couple of tiny hairline cracks in the lauquer. One is on the neck at the 12th fret the other is on the top near the cutaway. These are not cracks in the wood . There are no belt buckle marks. The binding is all intact and not separated. The frets are in great shape a fret job was done by Master Lutheir John Mello a year or so ago. The guitar has been played lightly since then. This is an absolutley beautiful example of one of these guitars, I have rarely seen one in this condition from the 70's.
I have looked on the web. and I do not see any Guild Artist Award's Blonde of this vintage and condition for sale. These wonderful guitars are very undervalued at this time and will only go up in price.
The guitar plays and sounds wonderful. The electronics work perfectly.
The gold plating on the tuners is in good shape, same for the tailpiece. The Pickup has a little wear on the plating but still looks great (look at the pictures)
The case is original and is good shape except for the handle which is only attached on one side.
There are 2 tiny discolorations on the back of the back around the 11th fret , They are about 1/8 inch by 1/4 inch each. They are where the rubber bumpers of a guitar stand rested I assume. They are really insignificant however I thought I should mention them.
This is a no return item.
For sale only in the U.S.
