Here is a vintage Guild. made in USA - Westerly Rhode Island! It's in great shape for being made in 1974 (that's 36 years old!) This guitar has been played and loved and has a small repaired dent on the lower bout where it can't be seen, but plays like butter - the 36 years have mellowed the spruce tops and the Guitar sounds better and better every year. Why pay $2000 for a Martin or taylor when you can have this for less than half?
So, it is still sounding great and playing just fine and has been maintained with yearly setups by skilled luthiers over the years, Absolutely no cracks except for the small dent _I_ did to it (which in no way affects the sound) and the usual scruffs you would see in a 36 year old guitar (most you can see in the pics, but there are absolutely no significant (cosmetic, large or sound-affecting) other cracks, dings what have you. The secret: I never let anyone else play it. That way it stays in good shape!
I'm confident you'll love this guitar so if you don't just send it back no questions asked!
More details: It has the classic Sikta Spruce and Mahogany back and sides. The neck is Mahogany and the fretboard is Rosewood. The frets show some virtually no wear & the guitar plays terrific. It is loud and vibrant when strummed and melodic when fingerpicked. Aside from what I've described there is no history of serious repair/breakage. The neck is straight and the truss rod is fine. The finish on the guitar has thinned out a bit over the 36 years which gives it that mellow wood look you can see in the pics. It has a few dings, dents, pick scratches, discolorations: all the stuff you'd expect to see on a Player's Vintage Guitar. Included with the guitar is a Martin Hardshell Case.
